Botanical
characteristics: Semi-shrub
with woody base. Heavily branched stems round
and evenly hairy, leaves small, firm, circular
or oval-shaped narrow, smooth edged, outer surface
of leaves covered with long hairs along |

ventral margins; leaf stalks hairy, red brown.
Habitat:
Rocks, screes, debris and stony
steppe slopes, desert steppes, waterside pebbles,
fixed sands.
Distribution:
Khubsugul, Khangai, Mongol-Daurian, Mobgolian
Altai, Middle Khalkha, East Mongolia, Depression
of Great Lakes, Valley of Lakes, Gobi Altai.
Economic
uses: Medical and aromatic,
good for washing hair. Used for treatment of
respiratory diseases and as an extract for kidney
disorders. An endemic plant. |

Botanical
characteristics: Multi-stemmed.
Young shoots dark-red. Dwarf shrub, with opposite,

leaves with entire margin (rarely with spaced
teeth) and bright blue flowers in |

inflorescences. Smooth, simple leaves 3.5-5
cm long, upper leaf surface green and lower
surface whitish. Fruit fragile, four banners
and striped capsules dissected into four sections.
Habitat:
Steppe and desert stony and debris slopes of
hills and mountains, on rocks, slopes and sandy-pebble
bottom of sayrs, river shoals, thin sands.
Distribution:
Khentei, Khangai, Mongol-Daurian,
Mongolian Altai, Middle Khalkha, East Mongolia,
Valley of Lakes, East Gobi, Gobi-Altai, Transaltai
Gobi, Alashan Gobi.
